Puppy Lovin'

While we contemplate our lifestyle change (that sounds wrong, somehow...!), we are engulfing ourselves with puppy therapy. They are quite the little playful critters now with most of their teeth very clearly in use. One might say that your fingers are left out at your own risk. Though they play hard, they crash hard! It's when they snuggle up and fall asleep that we just fall in love!

We laugh at their silly positions chosen for sleeping. They seem to like to dig into the couch cushions, but in your arms, limp they go! (Focus on the puppy, not the bed-hedded, bath-robed woman in the shot.)

To all our peeps:

We knew you wanted to see some puppy pictures! I admit, it's been a bit more rough for me for lack of sleep, but we should be arriving on easier times very soon. We seem to have a suspiciously large yellow male pup. We think he keeps eating other puppies. Seriously, he's huge. We, as in Bella, also has a "size impaired" yellow male pup. He's a cutie and seems to do just fine, but is about half the size of "Brutus." Yes, that's what I call the ginormous one. The rest seem to be within the realm of average and are squealing a lot, trying to bark, and generally eating as often as their momma will hang out in their den.
Elmer Fudd has arrived this winter. Fortunately, Rowdy has befriended him and has proven himself invaluable in retrieving the "harey" beast. It's a good thing Elmer is wearing his camo. He doesn't stand out at all, huh?!
Tonight we relived Thanksgiving Dinner by cooking up our turkey that Pat won at the men's turkey shoot, and all the fixin's! I did have to call my sister and get my niece, Sydney's recipe for her berry pie. Its secret ingredient that I will reveal to you all, is the white chips put on top when the pie comes out of the oven! YUMMY! Thank you Sydney! Pat loved it!

What We've Been up to...

Yes, we have been mostly in puppy play times! It has been so much fun to play and work with Allie (I don't know how they are spelling it!) When the last of the puppies left us, we made a pen for her under the table. It worked well, and even now the dogs both enjoy the little "den."
In an effort to give Rowdy a break from the pup, we have allowed him to get up on Pat's chair. I think he likes it!
We are really loving the puppy phase again! She plays hard and then crashes in our laps! It is the sweetest. She likes to crawl into my lap, but when Pat's home, I encourage her to love on him too!

Dog Days of ...Winter

This is basically how we like to end our evenings! They are 4 weeks old today, and they have now had their first taste of puppy food! They have also had a drink of powdered milk to help a momma out! It seems that they instinctively know how to eat and drink out of a dish! They were surprisingly clean in their first endeavors. I also took the time this past week to give them all pedicures to help with those barbs on the ends of their paws. I can't say I've ever worked on a more compliant bunch!

New Years Puppies (yes, again!)

We still try to give Rowdy and Bella some attention, but those babies of theirs are so fun to cuddle with! They are starting to cut teeth and have become quite playful which will become more painful as the teeth grow out!

Here's just a couple rejects from the 30+ pictures I took for our most recent flyer. As evidenced by the photo below, the chocolates seem to be the most vocal and the first to do everything!

Here's a little clip of how loud and feisty the pups are becoming.

Christmas

Our Christmas Eve was pretty low-key. Pat worked and I relaxed and baked! I made these wafer cookies, an apple tart, and a turtle cheesecake for Christmas Day. When Pat got home from work, he went back to work in the garage, putting up insulation.

Christmas morning I got Pat up by bringing him some puppies in bed along with his coffee. I have to say that it didn't exactle bring him out of bed!

I proceeded to bring all the pups up for Christmas morning until we went to our friends. They were so sweet!

My finished tart and cookies.

After spending my morning on the computer webcam with my family, we loaded up our goodies and went to our friend, Aaron and Stacey's house for dinner! Our new traditional Christmas Crab dinner with Aaron's amazing shrimp gumbo stuff was absolutely marvelous and stuffed us completely.

2 Weeks Old!

Their eyes are beginning to open! They are also beginning to enjoy a tummy rub now and again!

They are fun to bring in and play! True, they only sleep, but even that is pretty cute!
