Some June business

A little while ago, Pat decided we needed a little boardwalk to our lake.  He whipped it up in a day and a half or so.  It's been quite the addition, though the dogs don't particularly love jumping off into the water from it!  It launches the canoe quite nicely, so if we don't sell, ... shucks!

Pat has been on me about every evening to go fishing in Cabin Lake.  It's a bit obnoxious, so I finally gave in and after a breezy cold night, I finally snagged a smaller trout.  I say snagged instead of caught since I only landed him after trolling.  My fly-casting was getting some much-needed practice, but the wind was a bit counter productive.  Maybe on another day...

He did look mighty cute, though!

Not every bear hunt can be as successful as the one Pat and I took on the previous post.

Just the weekend after, Pat and a couple friends went out on a boat across Skilak Lake on pursuit of a black bear or 3.

It seems that despite the careful stalk of what appeared to be a bear and turned out to be a burnt tree stump, the three had a wonderful time and the weather could not have been more beautiful!  I did hear that they saw a real bear, but it was unattainable.  We are forced to endure only the pictures of their camp and scenery as opposed to any trophy photo's.  Perhaps this fall will find more success!
