I made myself a landing net this month. I cut a spruce sappling for the hoop and another for the handle. I used 180 feet of braided nylon for the net. It took about 580 double- overhand knots to complete the netting.

Man pat, that is a beautiful work of art! 580 double overhand knots must have taken some time. How many hours do you have in it?. How did you attach the handle to the loop so it won't break when you are landing a 10 lb trout? Was the nylon rope made of stuff for fishing to prevent rot?
